A dedicated member of Herrington Lake Conservation League will be greatly missed

(Ken) Charles Caudill
Funeral Time: Tuesday, October 4th at 5:00PM
Charles Kenneth Caudill age 81, husband of Connie Watson Caudill, died Saturday at Ephraim Mcdowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. He was born in Salyersville, KY on January 14, 1930 to the late Charles H. and Gertrude May Caudill. He received his Masters in Education from the University of Kentucky and taught for 38 years at the Lafayette High School where he served as the Chairman of the Science Dept., as well as the Basketball and Baseball Coach during his career. He belonged to the Herrington Lake Conservation League and Herrington Lake Yacht Club. He is survived by four sons, Charles Craig (Joann) Caudill, Chris (Lynn) Sheets, Clayton P. Caudill, and Cliffton M. (Lesley) Caudill; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5pm to 7 pm at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Harrodsburg Road.

Herrington Lake Conservation League Pig Roast
at Chimney Rock Marina Saturday, August 6, starting at 4:00 PM

Pulled pork, was donated by Sunset Marina, and fresh buns were donated by Donut Days and a good time was had by all who attended!!!

Live music was provided by Dillon Carmichael. If you missed Dillon, you missed a treat. This young man, from Burgin, just keeps getting better and better!!  
 

Dillon started at around 6:00. Then Faded Blue performed at 8:00.

For the third year there was also be a Corn Hole Tournament. Ray Martin and Clint Gay won the Cornhole Tournament and donated their winnings back to the HLCL!!!!  Thank you Ray and Clint! 

There was a Silent Auction. And if you won an item but were not there to pick it up, we will be in touch soon!!!!

Thank you to all of you who attended and supported our event! 

Now let's get ready for the Golf Outing, September 21!!!

HLCL Awarded 2011 Bluegrass PRIDE Grant
 

At a ceremony hosted by the Lincoln County Fiscal Court, March 28 2011, the Herrington Lake Conservation League was awarded a $20,000 Bluegrss PRIDE grant. Ben Chandler presided over the award ceremony and specifically highlighted the work being done by the Herrington Lake Conservation League in his opening remarks.

Ten years. Ten years – – and counting! How many of you actually believed, when you attended that big meeting at the Danville High School, that ten years later the Herrington Conservation League would still be going strong?

 

Ten years. Ten years of picking up Styrofoam. Ten years of picking up flotation barrels. Ten years of demolishing dead boat docks. Ten years of cutting and stacking wood. Ten years of worrying about the weather for the Pig Roast. Ten years of rounding up golfers and hole sponsors for the golf outing. Ten years! Ten years – – and counting.

How does the HLCL work?

 

HLCL is governed by a Board of Directors which meets monthly.  The organization is managed by four HLCL Officers who oversee activities in various areas conducted by Standing Committees. We hold an annual meeting and conduct various fundraising and volunteer clean-up activities during each year.  Our direct dues paying membership is currently at 350 households and we continue to actively seek new members to help us accomplish our mission.
